Fall Recreational Program

Overview

The Fall Recreational Soccer Program runs from August to November and includes U6-U19 age groups. Players register individually and are placed on volunteer coached teams, that then play other recreational teams on the weekend. This program relies on parent volunteer coaches who seek to create an enjoyable learning experience for soccer players of all skill levels.  We expect our coaches to interact positively with all players and promote an environment that is fun-filled and brings out the joy of playing soccer. Coaches trained to introduce age/ability appropriate activities in practice, promote a connection amongst teammates, and provide a fun and safe environment for our players.

Fall Season Registration is Now Open!

Our Fall season is now open for Registration.

Registration Information

Basics

  • Any skill level is welcome. Our program aims to build fitness and develop skill.

  • In 2022, we had over 1450 recreational players and 200 volunteer parent coaches.

  • Registration fees include an end of season gift to celebrate the season. It DOES NOT include uniform costs. Uniform information here.

  • Practices and games are held at local fields in El Dorado Hills, which include Rolling Hills Middle School, Silva Valley Elementary School, Marina Village Middle School, and Valley View Charter Montessori.

  • Parent volunteer coaches are the backbone of our club.  The main requirements to coach are a great attitude and a willingness to learn and apply positive coaching techniques.  No previous coaching experience is necessary.  Please consider volunteering this season. More information about volunteer coaching can be found here.

Teams

With over 1400 players and 200 volunteer coaches in our recreational program, team formation can be complicated, so we've created a policy to form teams to the best of our ability. Each age group has an Age Group Coordinator (AGC) volunteer that follows our club Team Formation Policy when creating teams for the new season. Here are the highlights of our team formation policy:

  • All registration requests MUST be entered at the time of registration in the club's online registration system. Any requests placed via email will be tracked by best efforts only. Requests include placement by school, placement on last year's team, placement by early or later practices, or no preference.

  • EDHSC DOES NOT honor requests to play for a particular coach or team.

  • EDHSC DOES honor requests not to play for a particular coach.

  • EDHSC will accept all Carpool requests; however, EDHSC DOES NOT guarantee that it can honor these requests regardless of experience in previous years.

  • For the U6, U7, U8, and U12 and above age groups, entire teams will be allowed to carry all their returning players from the 2019 season, provided they have a coach.

  • If you register after regular registration closes(late fee begins), your child will be place on a team, however we may not be able to honor your requests of team placement.

  • Snacks are not allowed on Promontory Park fields and are up to the team to coordinate.

Player/Parent Conduct

  • Kids are to be respectful of their coach and other players during practices and games, and should follow our EDHSC Player Code of Conduct.

  • Parents are to ensure kids have plenty of water and stay hydrated during practice and games.

  • Parents are to be respectful to volunteer coaches, referees, and adhere to our EDHSC Parent Code of Conduct.

  • Snacks may be coordinated by each team and are not to be consumed on Promontory Park fields.

  • Parents are to review the Heat & Air Quality Policy and although some practices may or may not be cancelled because of weather, it is ultimately up to parents to decide if current conditions are conducive to their player.

Parent Involvement

  • EDHSC does not require volunteer hours or fees.

  • However, over 1,400 players can play soccer in our club because of dedicated volunteer coaches, team parents, age group coordinators, event volunteers and board members.

  • Volunteering can be as limited or broad as you prefer.

  • Volunteering is a great way to get to know others and be more informed about the community as a whole.

  • Information regarding volunteer coaching can be found here. Any questions regarding volunteering for the recreational program as an AGC or non-coach role, please email Tisha Straight at tisha@edhsc.org.
